It gives me pleasure to publicize a man and his vision: I met David Sumner while at Crossfire Festival at Risdon Farm near Exeter, Devon, U.K. on a recent tour of England and Iceland.
Dave (from Exeter, England) is a Christian man who loves guitars and missions. He, his brother and others go into a lot of third world countries sharing Jesus. Not only do they preach the Good News and encourage believers in each place, they also take musical gear with the express purpose of providing good quality electric, acoustic guitars, basses and travel guitars to Christian evangelists and worship teams who don't have the money or means to acquire such instruments.
Dave and friends travel each year giving appx. 100 such instruments away to those God leads them to in Africa, Asia, Cuba and beyond. He is looking for Christians who have the means, to sponsor these instruments which are built to his specifications.
For $80.00 USD you can sponsor a guitar that will end up in some believing musician's hands who simply cannot get one any other way. Dave passed a Strat-style electric as well as acoustic travel guitar to me, exactly the ones he gives to poor musicians in need in the third world. They are excellent quality, and frankly, I played the baby-blue vintage Strat-style guitar more than any other on this recent tour- it sounds and plays that good! In fact, it was the sole guitar I used in a live mini-concert on Iceland's number one rock radio station, covering the entirety of the country. She sounds very good. And she'll be with me at Cornerstone Festival making blues music :)
The little travel guitar is small yet with a full-size neck, teardrop body and is truly sweet with a glass for bottleneck-style. His basses are very much like Music Man basses, both four and five-stringers.
Please pray about contacting Dave via his website and sponsoring a guitar or two so that the Good News and authentic Christian worship can spread throughout the world! I highly endorse his work and his instruments!
